HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. The sound waves are targeted into defined skin depths (1.5 / 3.0 / 4.5 mm and deeper for the body) where they create thermal coagulation points. The skin then produces new collagen, leading to visible tightening – without surgery and without downtime.

HIFU is used on the face for lifting the eye area, cheeks, jawline, and neck. On the body, it is used for tightening the abdomen, upper arms, inner thighs, and buttocks, as well as for reducing local fat deposits. A treatment lasts 30–90 minutes depending on the area.

In Germany, HIFU devices with medical indications are subject to the German NiSV regulation or the Heilpraktikergesetz (Alternative Practitioners Act). HIFU works deeply (up to 13 mm in the SMAS) and lifts large areas – ideal for sagging. RF Microneedling works in the upper dermis and is the first choice for acne scars, pores, and skin texture. Many studios combine both procedures for maximum results.
