Laser Hair Removal for Dark Skin: Why 1064 nm Nd:YAG is Essential

Darker skin tones contain higher levels of melanin in the epidermis. Traditional 755 nm or pure 808 nm devices operate at their limit in these cases. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG is the only wavelength that remains largely transparent to the epidermis, allowing it to target the follicle specifically.
