    Alexandrite

755 nm alexandrite combined with 1064 nm ND:YAG for maximum precision.

Alexandrite systems work at 755 nm and are mainly requested where fine or lighter hair has to be treated. In modern platforms the alexandrite wavelength is often combined with further wavelengths to cover more skin and hair types.

What 755 nm means in daily studio work

The 755 nm wavelength is strongly absorbed by melanin. That makes it efficient on finer hair, but it requires careful settings and a thorough consultation — especially with darker or tanned skin types. This is why combining it with other wavelengths is common in many platforms.

The wavelengths a specific ALIX system carries are listed in the technical data of that system page. We only publish verified values there; missing entries deliberately stay empty.

    Typical fields of use

Alexandrite platforms in the ALIX portfolio are used primarily for hair removal, and several systems are additionally designed for further indications. The applications actually released for a system are listed per system in the Product Hub.

    • Hair removal on finer and lighter hair
    • Combined operation with further wavelengths for more skin types
    • Platforms that bundle several treatment offers in one device

    Alexandrite or diode laser?

The two technologies do not exclude each other — many studios choose a platform that covers both. Which route suits your client base is something we work out together in a consultation, based on your treatment structure.

    Frequently asked questions

What is an alexandrite laser used for in a studio?
Mostly for hair removal, especially on finer hair. Several ALIX platforms combine 755 nm with further wavelengths; the released applications are listed per system in the technical data.
Is alexandrite suitable for every skin type?
Not across the board. The settings have to match the skin type, and additional wavelengths are an advantage on darker or tanned skin. Fitzpatrick skin typing is therefore part of every consultation.
